I’ve been shocked so far by how few Colin/Penelope scenes there are? Like in four hours they maybe had 30 minutes of screen time together, which is ridiculous. Hopefully this is fixed in the latter half 😞 I also didn’t love the plot of Colin and Penelope’s book so was expecting little from this seasons plot lol but hopefully the rumors are true and they do Benedict’s season next because I loooooooooove Cinderella retellings!! She leaves behind a glove with mysterious initials on it!! I can’t wait !!!

Ok so full disclosure, I've never read a single Bridgerton book and at this point, I'm a full-on hater. Plus I'm an Obnoxious Janeite who can't even stomach the inaccuracies in 2005 P&P so this type of stuff has NO chance of escaping my pretentious criticism.

I've never liked Polin in the show--my friend's favorite Bridgerton book is the Polin one so I'd hoped for better this season, but honestly, if I were Penelope I would marry Lord Debling in a moment over idiot Colin Bridgerton and let him die of blue balls idgaf. I would be so dried up over any man who claimed to be my friend and then knowing my lack of prospects in marriage in a world where marriage is essential for my survival (doubly so given my family's troubles), still found it necessary to protect his pride by bashing me to other people. That showed his utter lack of consideration or respect for me, and then adding onto that, the fact that he left to whore it up across the continent while I had to suffer through my awful sisters getting married and my mother's emotional and verbal abuse. He'd be dead to me, and if I was a bolder person I probably would get him to fall for me only to turn him down and walk away with a man who did respect me and could offer me a full life where I was in control of an entire estate. Especially because as I've mentioned before COLIN BRIDGERTON DID NOTHING TO HELP PENELOPE GET A HUSBAND!!!! SHE DID IT ALL HERSELF!!!!

But this show isn't about me and is instead giving a pathetic excuse for a man with no backbone or integrity the hero treatment because....????

And add to all of these issues with the characterization and relationships and pacing thus far, the fact that like you've said we've barely seen Polin interact this season or the last two, and I'm confused over the excitement for this season.

Jane raised me better than to swoon at such behavior or such writing.

I'm excited for you to be looking forward to next season but to me this show has run whatever flimsy escapist entertainment it brought and I am not watching S4.
